CO2 Laser Power Supply Replacement Guide: What You Need to Check Before Ordering
Replacing a CO2 laser power supply is a common requirement for laser machine users, repair technicians and spare parts distributors.
When a CO2 laser engraving or cutting machine has problems such as no laser output, unstable power, weak cutting performance or a damaged power supply, replacing the laser PSU may be necessary.
However, selecting the wrong replacement model can cause compatibility problems or even damage the laser tube and machine components.
Before ordering a replacement CO2 laser power supply, please check the following information.
1. Check the Original Power Supply Label
The label on the existing power supply usually contains important information, including:
- Model number
- Rated power
- Input voltage
- Output specifications
Before purchasing a replacement unit, take a clear photo of the original label and provide it to your supplier.
This helps confirm whether the new power supply matches your existing laser system.

2. Confirm the CO2 Laser Tube Power
The laser power supply must match the rated power of the CO2 laser tube.
For example:
- 60W CO2 laser tube → suitable 60W laser power supply
- 80W CO2 laser tube → suitable 80W laser power supply
- 100W CO2 laser tube → suitable 100W laser power supply
- 150W CO2 laser tube → suitable high-power laser PSU
Choosing a power supply only based on physical size or appearance is not recommended. The tube voltage and current requirements should also be considered.
3. Confirm the Input Voltage
Before ordering, check whether your machine uses:
- AC110V input
- AC220V input
Using an incorrect input voltage version may cause the power supply to fail or affect machine operation.
Always confirm the voltage information from the original power supply label or machine specification.
4. Compare Wiring Terminals and Connections
Different CO2 laser power supplies may have similar terminal layouts, but the wiring definition should always be checked carefully.
Common terminals include:
- FG
- AC
- H
- L
- P
- G
- IN
- 5V
The IN terminal is commonly used for 0–5V laser power control signals.
If you are unsure about compatibility, provide a photo of the original wiring terminals before ordering.

5. Check the Laser Machine Controller
Many CO2 laser machines use controllers such as:
- Ruida
- Trocen
- TopWisdom
- M2 Nano
The replacement power supply should match the control signal requirements of the machine controller.
Providing the controller model and wiring information can help confirm compatibility before purchase.
6. Safety Notice for Replacement
CO2 laser power supplies generate high voltage during operation.
Replacement and wiring should only be performed by qualified technicians.
Incorrect wiring, poor grounding, unsuitable voltage or mismatched laser tube specifications may damage:
- Laser power supply
- CO2 laser tube
- Laser machine control system
Always disconnect power before inspection or installation.
