CO2 Laser Power Supply Procurement Checklist for Machine Manufacturers
Selecting a CO2 laser power supply for machine manufacturing requires more than matching the power rating. Before sample testing or batch purchasing, manufacturers should also confirm the input voltage, control interface, product dimensions and installation conditions.
The following checklist can help OEM buyers reduce compatibility problems and avoid unnecessary changes during machine assembly.
1. Laser Tube Power
First, confirm the rated power of the CO2 glass laser tube, such as 40W, 60W, 80W, 100W or another specified rating.
Do not select a power supply only according to the machine’s working area. Machines of similar sizes may use different laser tubes. A tube label photo or existing power supply model can help with product selection.
2. Input Voltage
Confirm the required AC input voltage according to the machine’s electrical design and destination market.
The input-voltage version should be checked before ordering. Buyers should not assume that power supplies with similar enclosures use the same input voltage.
3. Control Interface
The power supply must work with the machine controller and its control signals. Before purchasing, check:
- Controller model
- Terminal labels
- Current-control method
- Test-fire signal
- Protection signal requirements
Providing terminal photos or a wiring diagram makes technical confirmation easier.
4. Dimensions and Installation Space
Correct wattage does not guarantee that the power supply will fit the machine cabinet. Confirm the overall dimensions, mounting-hole positions, terminal direction and available wiring space.
The installation area should also provide sufficient ventilation and safe clearance around the high-voltage connection.
5. Sample and Order Quantity
Tell the supplier whether the order is for prototype development, compatibility testing, small-batch production or regular machine assembly.
Provide both the sample quantity and estimated batch quantity. This helps the supplier understand the project stage and prepare a suitable quotation.
6. Technical Documents
Before approving a power supply for regular production, request the available specifications, dimensional information, terminal identification and wiring guidance.
Sample testing is recommended for a new machine design or when replacing a different power supply model.
